about

June has been a difficult month for me so with these samples provided to me by my friend Tonya (@raheema30) I created a souful spiritual blend of sonics. I've know Tonya for a few years and meet her via social networks. We linked up to see the ATCQ "Words, Beats and Life" documentary and just hit it off from there. She's forever a positive vibe and all around great spirit for me and my soul. She's priceless.

A few words from Tonya (@raheema30)

As far back as I can remember I have been in an affair with music. Not the new or trendy but music that is way beyond my years and sometimes my understanding. Being a southern girl (I am a DMV transplant by way of NC) my love affair with music has always been spiritually conflicting because its secular or music that's of the devil. Hymns and requiems are all you should sing as a good church girl yet I craved the boom and the bap those bars and that nasty thump in my trunk. I chose these songs because they are the soundtrack of my personal spiritual struggle; loving something or someone that is not of God. Spiritual awakening finding out Christ after all was a black man and a Judahite, so am I. Spiritual rebirth: acceptance of who you are and the fact that religion won't make you perfect but faith might get you close.
