I first met Tyi-Sanna in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania around 97-98. She was one of the coolest people I met in Pittsburgh and she even started out my locs when I decided to loc my hair. We have been in and out of contact over the years which much of it was due to my lack of being a good friend. Hearts mended and friends we remain. Below are a few words from the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of April's Instrumental Album and her inspiration behind the records she picked for me to sample.

Winter gives way to the anticipation of warmer days and hotter nights. Inconsistent spring weather forces me appreciate the random warm Wednesday and the dreary cold Thursday has me thinking about not playing more while the sun out… Spring is a time of new beginnings and resurrections in nature and this year it feels like a personal resurrection. Getting closer to the BIG 40 I recognize the vibrancy of my twenties mesh with clarity and confidence of 35+ and it’s really nice! I’m in LOVE with me like never before! I FEEL the glow and I’m ready to walk in it. Unapologetic is a word I find myself using more than indifferent, as I do care, but not willing to prioritize anyone’s feelings or needs above my own, anymore. I feel like it’s my duty to not only teach others how to treat me but to treat myself and love on me the primary example."
